Meet our super-duper Tina! This girl is a bundle of joy. She was surrendered to the NYC high-kill shelter by her family, who said they had no time for her. Their loss is certainly our gain! We feel very lucky to have been able to help her get a new leash on life. At her last home, Tina was kept outdoors in the backyard and slept in a doghouse. She was only taken inside in inclement weather. When she was inside she was kept in a crate.
You might think being alone so much would make Tina a bit shy around new people. Not so! The shelter reports that she was calm, cool and collected when she first arrived. What's more, they gave her the coveted "green light" rating which means she is friendly and good with people. Tina is relaxed with children and loved to play with them in her backyard. Always up for a snack, she eats a mixture of dry and wet food. Jostle her when she's munching away? No problem. She keeps her head in her dish and keeps digging in!
Tina loves getting attention and has lots of love to share. She needs a little help learning how to navigate the world. As she was kept in the backyard her entire life, she was never taken for walks on the street. We feel Tina would do best with an experienced dog owner who is willing to invest the time to help her learn the ropes. While gentle with people, she prefers to be the star of the show and would do best in a home without other dogs or cats.
